The Trust is an accredited centre for the delivery of National Vocational Qualifications in social care. The Training Department also provides a variety of specialist courses that encompass many of the training requirements for social care professionals from the many aspects of child protection work, managing challenging behaviour, drug and alcohol misuse, report writing, child observation and attachment, through to the health and safety requirements incumbent on foster carers or fostering agencies. These are just a few of the courses available. Please contact the Trust to discuss your individual or agency’s needs.
The Trust is able to provide for the majority of the training needs of foster carers and their agencies as required by CSCI (Commission for Social Care Inspection).
The Trust, in partnership with Christchurch University, is providing one of the first higher education courses (foundation degree) exclusively for foster carers, to enhance their professional development and career opportunities. The first cohort commenced during September 2006 with a further cohort due to commence in the Spring Term of 2007. It is anticipated that there will be two intakes a year.
Details of selection and course content can be provided on request.
